Our goal is to make this experience as peaceful and gentle as possible. Here's what happens from the moment your doctor arrives.

Arrival & Introduction
Your doctor arrives and takes a few moments to meet your pet and your family. There's no rush. Any questions you have will be answered before anything begins.

Comfort Sedation
A gentle sedative is administered first, allowing your pet to relax fully into a deep, comfortable sleep, completely free of anxiety or discomfort.

A Peaceful Passing
Once your pet is fully at rest, the final injection is given. The process is quiet and gentle. Your pet will not feel any pain.

Time to Say Goodbye
Take as much time as you need. Your doctor will remain with you and assist with aftercare arrangements according to your wishes.

Owner Donation Program
Owner Donation Program
For families who wish to make a lasting contribution to veterinary education, Circle of Life offers information regarding the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine Owner Donation Program.
Through this program, eligible pets may be donated to support the education of future veterinarians and advancements in veterinary medicine. Participation is entirely voluntary and may not be available for every patient.
Current Eligibility
- Pets must generally weigh 50 pounds or less.
- Acceptance is determined by the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine.
- Your Circle of Life veterinarian can discuss this option with you and answer any questions.
If you are interested in the Owner Donation Program, please let us know during scheduling so we can help coordinate the process.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know when it's time?
This is one of the hardest questions families face. Signs that quality of life has significantly declined include inability to eat or drink, difficulty breathing, loss of mobility, or chronic unmanageable pain. We encourage families to speak with their regular veterinarian about quality-of-life assessments. When you feel it's time, we are here to help.
Can all family members be present, including children?
Yes. Everyone who wishes to be there is welcome. Many families find it helpful for all members, including children, to have the opportunity to say goodbye. There is no rush, and your doctor will follow your family's lead throughout the entire visit.
Will my pet feel any pain?
No. A sedative is given first to ensure your pet is fully relaxed and comfortable before the final injection. The process is completely painless and peaceful. Your pet will simply drift into a deep sleep.
How long does the visit take?
Most visits take between 30 and 60 minutes. The medical procedure itself is brief, but we allow plenty of unhurried time before and after for your family to be fully present.
What happens to my pet's body afterward?
That decision is entirely yours. We can coordinate with local cremation providers (see our Aftercare section below), or your pet may remain in your care for home burial or a pet cemetery. We will walk you through every option without any pressure.

Pricing varies based on pet size, location, and the specific services needed. Final pricing and payment instructions are shared once a doctor is assigned. Additional mileage fees may apply for travel outside of Amarillo.
In-Home Euthanasia
Includes a house call, comfort sedation, and a peaceful in-home procedure. Aftercare arrangements are coordinated separately based on your preferences.
Aftercare Coordination
We can assist with coordinating cremation or transport through our trusted local providers. Options include private cremation, communal cremation, and aquamation.
Payment Methods
Each doctor may have their own preferred payment method, including Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, cash, or other options. Details will be shared at the time of assignment.
